Terjola Public School
The Bardubani Public School project in Terjola, Georgia, is a 2025 competition proposal designed to replace an aging facility with a high-standard, modern educational environment. Situated on a 30,784 m² site, the project features a four-story terraced architecture that progressively steps down to create a unique connection with the natural landscape. A centerpiece of the design is an integrated open-air amphitheater, which functions as both a community cultural venue and a dynamic outdoor classroom. Sustainability is prioritized through a high-performance building envelope with a thermal conductivity of 0.28 W/m²K and Low-E double-glazing, ensuring long-term energy efficiency and climate resilience. The building’s aesthetic is defined by a hybrid facade of amber-toned HPL and Aluminum Composite Panels (ACP), providing a durable exterior that protects the core structure while facilitating uniform natural lighting through specialized lamellas. Internally, the ground floor houses primary school spaces, dining areas, and a 600 m² sports hall. The upper floors contain advanced learning environments including physics and chemistry laboratories, a library, a recording studio, and a top-floor administrative suite with expansive terraces. This modular concrete design aims to foster a healthy social atmosphere, inspiring students through a space that effectively combines functionality with biophilic principles.
